This is the Sahara in a wider southern context. The route begins with Marrakech, follows the Draa toward Zagora and Erg Chigaga, then emerges through the Iriki landscape toward Taroudant and Morocco’s wild Atlantic edge.
It works especially well for travellers drawn to varied landscapes and lesser-visited places, with the option to extend toward Essaouira.

Day 1
Arrive in Marrakech
Private welcome and time to settle into your riad.
Day 2
Marrakech
Explore the city with a licensed local guide.
Day 3
Marrakech to Zagora
Cross the Atlas, visit Aït Benhaddou and follow the Draa Valley south.
Day 4
Zagora to Erg Chigaga
Visit Tamegroute and M’hamid before the off-road approach to camp.
Day 5
Sahara experience
A full day for the dunes, desert culture and immense southern skies.
Day 6
Erg Chigaga to Taroudant
Cross the Iriki landscape and travel via Tazenakht toward the Souss.
Day 7
Taroudant to Legzira
Continue through the Massa and Agadir region to the dramatic southern coast.
Day 8
Legzira and Sidi Ifni
Explore cliffs, beaches and the distinctive former Spanish port.
Day 9
Coast to Marrakech
Return inland via the mountain road and Tizi n’Test.

Departure
